Sirius Piano Duo was founded in 2019 by pianists Dr. Pei-Chen Chen and Dr. Mengjie Xiong, who first crossed paths during their studies in graduate school in Toronto, Canada.

Sirius Piano Duo is passionate about connecting Canadian and Chinese culture through music by promoting music literature transformed into piano duet arrangements, merging classical music with different genres, and collaborating with local composers. In 2021, Sirius Piano Duo was the recipient of the Orford Musique Scholarship to record the Canadian piano duet series - The Northern Lights. In 2024, the duo is presenting a lecture-recital at the conference Australasian Piano Pedagogy Conference discussing Canadian pedagogical piano duets, in Melbourne, Australia.
